Finally picked up a few pieces from the Nars 2010 Holiday collection.
From left to right: Etrusque Eyeshadow, Sex Appeal Blush, Little Darling Lipstick.
Nars Sex Appeal (Blush) I've been drooling over this blush ever since I laid eyes on it. I was, however, a little disappointed when I finally received the product and applied it to my face. My face is an nw15-nw20 and it hardly shows up on me... however, after you build it up a bit it can look quite gorgeous as a natural glow. It's reminiscent of Benefit's Dandelion in that way except it's much more of a peach (pinky peach though, not orangey at all). It also is matte with no shimmer at all. Grade: B+
Nars Etrusque (Eyeshadow) is a nice true gold shadow with A LOT of shimmer. I was a bit disappointed by this too. I was expecting a much warmer gold but this shadow was very yellow. The shimmer was impressive and looked much brighter and vivid than most shadows I've used but it still wasn't anything I'd rave about. Also, the color applied somewhat sheer unless applied with a wet brush. When applied with a wet brush though, I must say this looked like pure gold on the lids. I would recommend buying this product if you can afford it but if you're on a budget you can find other products nearly as good for a lot less. Grade: A
Nars Little Darling (Lipstick) is a beautiful sheer lipstick. It's really just a tint of color to the lips and probably only works on low pigmented lips but it is such a gorgeous shade. It's somewhere in between brown and nude with a hint of violet. It mutes the lips and gives them a slight cool shade. This color is great with a smokey eye and great for more natural but edgy looks. The color is similar to Jubilee by Mac but it has a much nicer texture and again, this color has some violet in it, Jubilee does not and Jubilee is much more orange. But even though I love this shade so much I must say it is REALLY sheer. I own a few other sheer Nars lipsticks and none of them are quite this sheer. It also seems a bit more glossy than the others which I actually don't like. Grade: A-
Okay, I've done a lot of complaining but honestly this collection is fantastic! I really love these colors that I chose. I think they're all very unique in their own way and the quality of each of them is very nice. I think Etrusque would make a lovely Christmas gift for almost any with any skin tone.
